Young Adult Transitions
Delphi Resources
In 2010 we will be launching a new transition program for young adults – Delphi Resources. Delphi Resources is a support program where college-age students with Asperger Syndrome, ADHD and similar developmental traits gain the skills necessary to achieve success in academic, social and life endeavors.
Program Description
Our program is not residential. Instead, through our comprehensive transition support program, we provide a network of supports and resources to help each young adult achieve long-term success. First, we conduct an assessment of strengths and goals to help young adults and families develop their ideal housing arrangement, either in the family home or in apartments/shared housing. Our direct-care staff then provides in‐home coaching to strengthen independent living skills and track progress. Master’s level case coordinators and internship/academic specialists provide clients with guidance and structure to pursue goals and connect with vital resources.
Through our daytime Hub Center, students meet with program staff and college-age peer mentors, engage in volunteer projects, practice independent living skills, receive academic support or simply spend time with friends. The Hub Center is located in Northeast Seattle in a beautiful home-like setting in a residential neighborhood near our main campus. Students receiving comprehensive transition support are able to access the Hub Center automatically. Students are also able to access the Hub Center, as well as individual services, by enrolling in Delphi Resources at an hourly rate.
We customize each student’s plan to include support in the following areas:
- Independent Living
- Academic coaching and guidance
- Volunteer/Internship experiences
- Social groups and outings
- Case Coordination
Students in the Delphi Resources program have tremendous potential: by teaching new skills and connecting them to resources, we help our students experience success.
We customize services and offer three different services:
- Comprehensive monthly support-monthly fee varies based on range and frequency of services Social groups with emphasis on social connections, independent living skills, and self-advocacy-$50 per group
- Individual services with a Master's level case coordinator, $150.
